Understanding dental coverage can be confusing. At iSmile Dental in Langley, BC, we accept all major dental insurance plans, the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), and offer flexible payment options so cost never stands between you and quality dental care.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program that helps eligible Canadian residents access dental care. iSmile Dental is a registered CDCP provider in Langley, BC.
You may qualify for CDCP coverage if you are a Canadian resident, have an adjusted family net income under $90,000, do not have access to private dental insurance, and have filed your most recent tax return. Seniors aged 65 and older, children under 18, and persons with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate were the first groups enrolled. Coverage is expanding to all eligible Canadians.
CDCP coverage includes preventive services (cleanings, exams, X-rays), restorative services (fillings, crowns), oral surgery (extractions), denture services, and some periodontal treatments. The co-pay amount depends on your family income: families earning under $70,000 have no co-pay, those earning $70,000–$79,999 pay 40%, and those earning $80,000–$89,999 pay 60%.
Simply bring your CDCP member card to your appointment. Our front desk team handles the billing directly with Sun Life (the CDCP administrator). No upfront payment is required for covered services if your family income is under $70,000. Visit our dedicated CDCP in Langley page for more details.
iSmile Dental accepts all major dental insurance providers in British Columbia, including Pacific Blue Cross, Great-West Life (Canada Life), Sun Life Financial, Manulife, Desjardins Insurance, Green Shield Canada, Industrial Alliance, Equitable Life, Blue Cross of BC, and First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). If your provider isn’t listed, call us at 604-510-3232 — we likely accept it.
For treatments not fully covered by insurance, we offer several payment options to make dental care affordable: direct insurance billing (we bill your insurance company directly), interest-free payment plans for qualifying treatments, major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), debit and e-transfer, and financing through iFinance for larger procedures like dental implants and cosmetic treatments.
Can I use both CDCP and private insurance? No. CDCP is designed for people who do not have access to private dental insurance. If you have private insurance through your employer, you would use that instead.
Do you offer free consultations? We offer complimentary consultations for dental implants and cosmetic procedures. Diagnostic appointments (exam + X-rays) are covered by most insurance plans and CDCP.
What if I don’t have any insurance? We welcome uninsured patients and offer competitive self-pay rates. Ask about our payment plans — we’ll work with you to make treatment affordable.
How do I check if my insurance covers a specific treatment? Call us at 604-510-3232 with your insurance details, and our team will verify your coverage before your appointment — no surprises.
